Have you ever wondered how things are made? Find out how the everyday objects people use become the things they are. Watch as HOW IT'S MADE reveals the methods and materials of everyday items in a behind-the-scenes look at the manufacturing process.

Let the good times roll

IT'S been a long, hard winter. Jocasta has banned any frivolous expenditure for the duration of the recession and so the pleasures of life have been restricted to the free stuff — mainly sitting at the computer playing Facebook games such as “What '80s PopStar Are You?” And “If You Were a Prostitute, What Sort of Prostitute Would You Be?”

As leisure experiences go, it's quite depressing stuff, the answers in my case being “George Michael” and “Skanky Ho”.

Of course, the best things in life are free and each morning I've kicked off the day with a cheap version of paintball, in which Ikill the cockroaches skittering across our kitchen benches using nothing but a rolled-up tissue. Just yesterday I beat my own record, in one marathon session — or “sesh” as we gamers put it — prior to making tea.

Free fun can also be had tying tiny bells around the necks of the mice infesting our pantry in the hope that they might jingle the tune of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells while munching through our stocks of slivered almonds. If only they'd stay still for long enough to affix the little blue-leather collar.

Forget everything you learned in film class during the summer. "Adrenaline" director Robert Archer Lynn wants you to know that his latest film, the upcoming epic paintball Slasher "Deadbox" (aka "Havoc"), contains the single dose of the longest in the history of the medium . In fact, gimmick of the film is sold in almost ever press release related to the project, boldly declaring to anyone who will listen that the entire project was executed using an intriguing 105-shot minute. And this is certainly an impressive accomplishment, it really will not amount to something worthwhile if the film itself is a complete and total loss of your precious time. This, of course, remains to be seen. Currently, Aleksandr Sokurov's haunting 2002 masterpiece "Russian Ark" holds the title of the longest take. If Lynn's assertion is true, I guess that's about to change.

Here's a quick summary if you're interested:

The premise is certainly came with potential, but again we are talking about the man who directed "Adrenaline", another film that uses a single decision to tell his story. Is it feared a pony ride, or is it really a good dose of talent buried beneath the surface? Once the film made its way onto DVD, the question must be answered. Until then, watch the trailer, a guy with that of "Last Chance Harvey: Mall Cop." No, the other one.
