The TIPPMANN 98 Custom Pro E-Grip with A.C.T. (Anti-Chop technology) is a fully customizable semi-automatic paintball marker. The receiver is die cast aluminum. The Custom Pro line markers come equiped with an 11" barrel, a double trigger and a drop forward factory installed! Tippmann's new Anti-Chop Technology is a complete new system consisting of a rear bolt, front bolt and linkage arm with movements that are dictated by the location of a paintball in the chamber prior to firing. If a paintball is fed correctly, the system's front bolt and rear bolt travel together - connected by the linkage arm - to fire the ball. However, if a ball is lodged inside the chamber incorrectly, the front bolt will stop moving forward as soon as it makes the slightest contact with the lodged ball. The rear bolt continues moving forward, but is momentarily disconnected from the linkage arm until it hits the marker's air valve. Upon reaching the air valve, the rear bolt is quickly forced back as it reconnects to the linkage arm, which pulls the front bolt back into firing position. While the two bolts are traveling back together, the lodged ball falls into position and the marker then cycles itself to discharge the ball at normal velocity. Competitive systems are typically just spring-loaded bolts, which require you to re-cock after each ball jam. Shot velocity is maintained with Tippmann's new system because its cycle speed never changes, unlike with spring-loaded Anti-Chop bolts that stall slightly when encountering a lodged ball. In addition, "blowback," a sudden release of trapped air into the hopper that often breaks paintballs and creates a big mess, is also eliminated because Tippmann's Anti-Chop Technology maintains consistent airflow in the marker whether there is a blockage or not. It also features an Electronic trigger with five firing modes (semi-auto, auto-response, full auto, 3-shot bursts, turbo) for rapid variable firing up to 17 balls per second. I do find the whole concept on 50cal a bit off putting.. no down to the size of the ball but the price it will put on all ballers heads.
Sure companies like RPS, KEE, DXS will save some money in manufacturing these little terrors but what will be the cost to the player.
just think if you buy a case of DXS Gold or Evil you looking at £40 a box for 2000 high end balls. thats alot of money and considering teams can range between 10 and 50 cases at an event.
now sure we can all say this will half our costs as in a box of 2000 68cal you’ll get near double that in a case of 50cal and it would be cheaper, and if it was the same price companies would lose a hell of a lot of money. and i dont see them giving us more balls for less money just cuz there smaller.!!
just to add to the paint cost, upgrading your kit will be more as well. i can see the 50cal conversion kit retailing at about £150-£200 and the loader upgrade being about £50-100 no to mention barrels

Tippmann A5. People have actually played ball speed with this marker and have completely destroyed the other with markers specifically made for the ball speed.
Tippmann A5 is also a woodsball / scenario marker. It will take a beating and still work. It can also be disassembled and repaired in less than 10 minutes.
I would say that it is a reliable marker. Tippmann A5 is awesome.

syndicate misfit paintball gun problems!!?
I have a leak in my union marker misfit. in the hole in the barrel, which connects the grip, a small plastic piece fell when I unscrewed the Volumizer. saw this piece in the back but i cannot get it to stay in.
any advice on where I can get this fixed or how to fix yourself?
